Jillian Fortier, MD, FACS, is a board-certified female plastic surgeon and founder of Riverstone Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery.  A lifelong New Englander, Dr. Fortier is proud of her Connecticut roots and the education that began at Mercy High School in Middletown. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from Providence College, where she competed as a Division I swimmer. Her undergraduate experience also fostered a lifelong love of travel and global perspective; during a Semester at Sea voyage, she circumnavigated the globe and traveled to 13 countries over the course of three months.

At the heart of Dr. Fortier’s surgical philosophy is a belief in restoration rather than reinvention. She finds it especially rewarding to artfully restore form, proportion, and function to the body after it has been changed by cancer, pregnancy, weight loss, trauma, surgery, or the natural process of aging. She believes that feeling comfortable in one’s own body can allow a person to move through the world with greater confidence and a stronger sense of self.

Her aesthetic is grounded in natural, balanced results that respect each patient’s individual anatomy. Rather than imposing a particular ideal, Dr. Fortier strives to understand what makes each patient feel most authentically themselves and to use surgical precision and artistry to enhance or restore what is naturally their own. She approaches every patient relationship with compassion, honesty, and meticulous attention to detail, believing that exceptional surgical care begins with listening.
